Jake Nickell on Cats and Dogs

What's better, cats or dogs?

My best friend in 4th grade, Chad B**th, quickly became my worst enemy when we got in a huge fight over which are better. We ended up doing surveys with our entire extended families over which they preferred. My family ended up being cat people and his dog people. We never talked since.

But now I have a dog of my own! And now I like dogs way more!

My Mom still prefers cats and has 2 of them.

I suppose that they both have their benefits. It really depends on the type of person you are and what kind of companionship you want to have with a pet.

My little bud Norman (half King Charles, half Pug) is sitting here next to me all cuddled up and snoring. I've never had a cat really show the kind of affection he shows.

I'm a changed man. Formerly a cat person, I've now become a dog person.

Yea I actually had both for a while... but then something really sad happened. I went on vacation and my friend that was supposed to watch my cats couldn't come because he had to go to the hospital for an emergency. So their litter box got full and they started going on our carpet and area rugs. (They had plenty of food and water) After over a year we still couldn't break them of the habit and had to take them to the shelter. That was a tough day :(

I prefer cats, mostly due to my complete lack of maturity. A dog would die under my care.

We've always had both but I'm definitely a cat person. Dogs are always dirtier and get weird bumps and lumps and gross stuff on them. ;[
But some dogs can be awesome. If I was going to get a dog I would want a Corgi.
